Coarse Fishing

Goodiford Mill Fishery comprises of Three lakes set in 32 acres of Culm Valley countryside, which includes the newest addition a seven acre coarse lake.

The coarse lake is the biggest lake and the furthest from the main car park. Having purchased a ticket from the lodge, follow the path from the far end of the car park past the cattle shed towards the lake that is surrounded by a large wooden electrified fence.

(The fence is there to stop a local otter with a taste for big carp).

The banks are planted with marginal plants and sapling trees.

The water has varied depths between 4ft and 16ft with submerged bars in most swims which are about 3ft under the surface and the water is sourced from the nearby river Ken.

A true mixed fishery, it boasts Roach and Rudd with a few samples topping 4lb, Tench, Perch, Crusians, Brown trout and Bream along with specimen Carp to 34lb+.

For those targeting silver fish, prefer to use the pole or waggler with maggot, caster, worm or corn. The  feeder is also a good tactic for bream or Carp, and nets close to 400lb plus have been taken last season.

Frozen Boilies over a bed of Coarse pellet feed, flavoured meat, corn and popped-up Boilies have accounted for many big carp, including mirrors to 29lb 12oz and commons to 29lb 4oz.

Disabled access is available with prior arrangement, whereby the anglers are allowed to drive onto the fishery, conditions allowing, next to their chosen swim.

We Sell a range of essential terminal tackle, from hooks, Funnel Web, Fluro Pop-ups, PVA etc  through to a wide selection of Baits, ground baits, maggots and pellets.
